Blushing a bit at the fact that Millianna was so concerned over him, Chopper tilted his head downward, frowning as he began to wonder why Mil-chan was always so protective of him. She truly was a lovely friend. Taking a small step forward, he spoke once more, softly as if to comfort her. “I was lonely without you around. I was scared that you might have forgotten about me.”
✿ - - the girl frowned. it was at times like this that she wished that her job as a mage made her less busy. oh no, she would never give up on being in mermaid heel, she loved it so dearly, but sometimes it made her a bit too busy. she pulled chopper into a hug and flashed pointed canines.
“there’s no way i could have forgotten about you, chopper-kun! you’re one of my best friends! ”
✿ - - the girl was confounded. chopper’s words and body language just didn’t match at all! here he was, beaming, looking full of life, saying that he’d been awful? if so, why was he smiling? millianna’s mouth twitched worriedly and she placed her hand on the reindeer’s shoulder.
“hey, chopper-kun, what do you mean it’s been awful? what happened to you? ”
chopperpirate asked: The young boy frowned slightly as he approached his friend after so many days, nearly a week of not seeing her. Gently poking her back with his hoof, he hoped to see the girl turn around and greet him. "Hello~!"
✿ - - millianna had been sitting in the town square, gazing at the vast sky. tiny flakes of snow were gently coming to rest on her face, melting as quickly as they had landed. there was supposed to be a lot of snow coming later on in the day, and the cat mage was preparing to head home, until she heard her friend’s voice.
“chopper-kuuun! it’s been a while, myaa! how’ve you been? “
Merely hearing such things from Millianna’s mouth, Chopper’s cheeks turned bright red. It was amazing that he made such an impact on her, that he was considered to be a sort of “best friend of the year” to her. At least, she didn’t make a similar gift for any of her other friends.
Hesitantly, Chopper reached his arms out toward her. “If that’s so… will you give me the best hug of the year?”
✿ - - the whole guild was filled with a raucous rumble as millianna’s guildmates celebrated the new year, jumping and yelling and embracing. caught up in the sea of bodies, millianna gave a little hop! to the side and out of the sea of people. she reached out her limbs and wrapped them around chopper’s velvety body.
“happy new year, chopper! i hope it’s a wonderful one for you! "
“Oh, okay!” Chopper sighed out of relief as the girl took the burden of her disgusting clothes off of his shoulders. As he heard her, he began to wonder why she did this for him when she likely had guild members and cats to take care of. “You said that took hours.” He pointed out with a somewhat confused frown on his face. “Why spend hours on something for me, Mil-chan?” What made him so special? Was she trying to get something out of being nice to him?
✿ - - hurriedly, the girl stuffed the clothes into the small duffle bag she had carried them into the guild with. now that this whole clothes fiasco with chopper was mostly over, millianna did not want anyone else to see them.
“well, i made a wonderful new friend this year - you! i wanted to make you something extra-special for christmas, or, at least try to, myaa. ”
Chopper felt bad for Mil-chan as she seemed to realize that she put hours of work into a piece of crap. Still, it was nice to know that she was thinking of him enough to put so much hard work into it, even if she didn’t know what she was doing. “Mil-chan, I’m sorry for saying that. If you really want, I’ll put it on since you put so much effort into it.”
✿ - - the mage glanced around. fellow members of mermaid heel were gathered all around the guild hall, clamoring amongst each other. she had no idea what the other’s reactions would be to seeing the petite reindeer dressed in such silly clothes. some of her fellow guildmates could be a bit ridiculous when intoxicated.
“myahaha, you don’t have to. i’ll take it back for good. "
“O-Oh. Well, Christmas is over, so it looks like I’ll have to wear that next year. It’s too bad.” He said nervously, hoping that Mil-chan would simply accept that answer. It would be embarrassing to wear that, but he wouldn’t be able to resist Mil if she kept forcing it onto him. It was so awkward to be in this position. “E-Erm… why me and not someone in your guild? I’m scared that if I wear that, your guild members will get jealous of me.”
✿ - - the girl was sure that a miniature version of herself was surely dancing around inside her head right now. and her guild members didn’t even have to see the horrendous fruit of her work! right as she got home after mermaid heel’s belated christmas party, this outfit was going into the trash where it rightfully belonged.
“okay, i’ll make sure someone else can wear it! or, perhaps, my kitty-cats at home can use it as a blanket! ”
Glancing awkwardly to the side, Chopper let out a small chuckle, feeling incredibly guilt-tripped at the moment. She really put so much misplaced effort into this? With an awkward smile on his face, Chopper took a half-step backwards. “I really don’t deserve such a present. Are you sure you didn’t make it for some lucky cat instead of me?” He asked with a slightly hopeful tone in his voice.
✿ - - ah - there it was. reading peoples’ moods and emotions was most certainly not one of the girl’s strong points, but millianna knew bad a lie when she heard one. maybe if i had just made one for a kitty-cat, i would be less humiliated at the moment, the mage lamented. waving her gloved limbs a bit frantically, she spoke in a hasty tone.
“erm… no way that would fit a kitty-cat, chopper-kun! it has antler holes and everything! ”
Chopper’s eyes widened with shock as he noticed the incredibly poorly made elf costume. He knew that Mil-chan adored him, so he felt incredibly hesitant to tell her how awful it was, but at the same time, he was embarrassed to walk around town wearing such clothes. Sighing lightly as the hat was placed onto his head, Chopper forced a smile on.
“Oh, wow! Thanks a lot, Mil-chan! This is the best Christmas gift ever!” He shouted in a forced excited tone as he silently hoped she might catch his acting. Perhaps if she didn’t, he’d just swallow his shame and continue to walk regardless of his disgustingly made costume.
✿ - - the mage’s ears gave a slight twitch as she picked up on the hitch in chopper’s voice. oh, she knew her handiwork was horrendous, all right. millianna had never received any kind of sewing lesson when she was a child - being a child slave did, indeed, limit your horizons. and, as she aged, the girl had just never put in the effort to learn.
“myaa, isn’t it, though? ” the girl mewed, wincing slightly. “ it took me hours to make! ”
chopperpirate asked: ❆ (My apologies for taking so long on the other roleplay. Suddenly twenty billion more roleplays popped up, Mil-chan. ^^)
( 38: “You make a perfect little elf” )
✿ - - lips pursed, millianna scanned the piece of fabric in front of her, wondering if she could really be a good seamstress. her town’s holiday party was tomorrow, and her friend had no costume to wear. so, the mage had shouldered the burden of chopper’s clothes and went to town making an outfit for him.
a few hours later, the project was done. hazel optics scrutinized very little seam of the elf costume that millianna had made. truth is, it was probably one of the messiest elf costumes ever made. however, millianna had put a lot of work into this costume, and, well, chopper was going to wear it. she located her friend, snuck up behind him, and put the elf hat on his head.
